Link is a Hylian, but he lives with a race called the Gymas, which resemble the Kokiri but in the rain forests of New Hyrule. Dark Link is a Hylian of the Trichtas, those who live amidst the flames of Death Mountain. They have never seen the large expansive fields of Hyrule, the Gerudo desert, or even the town for the Royal Family. When Royal jewels are stolen from each tribe by the evil demon king Horath they are sent to find the Princess of New Hyrule and ask for assistance....

BOTW: The Lonely Knight
It has been 100 years since the Great Calamity befell the land of Hyrule, leaving the once prosperous kingdom in ruin. After a century of slumber, Link wakes up alone with no memory of who he is. The voice of the long lost Princess Zelda calls to him, telling him to save her kingdom. With nothing but his courage and his name, he takes on the responsibility to put it back on track.
