A young adventurous woman ventures through the woods to a remote village in the heart of winter. Bernadette is unaware that she arrives just as a story teller unwillingly brings a potentially dangerous presence with him. Encountering Russia's folklore, she must find what is threatening the village and avoid the local farmer who has set his sights on her.
