This just keeps getting worse. How am I supposed to dodge past two of them? "What do you want now?" the new soldier grumbles. This one must be Alex. "Look at this cute little human I found. She's feisty. I think she's perfect for you." I glare at them. "I don't want a pet human. That's your disgusting fetish, and I'll have no part in it." She's jumpy, but tries to see the bright side of situations. She's quiet, soft spoken, the "teacher's pet," and keeps to herself a lot. She's a volunteer at the local animal shelter and loves one dog in particular the most. Daimen Princeston would fight in a heartbeat. He's strong, intimidating, and pretty much has people running for the hills at the very aspect of him getting angry. His devil-may-care attitude swirls around him and no one wants to get on his bad side. Of course River is afraid of him, and she has a good right to be. But when River starts to learn more of the young man everyone fears she starts to see him in a new way. After some time feelings grow stronger and she hopes she's not fallen for a murderer. And if she has, who is she to deny him the love he so desperately needs?

But a new leader came out of the ashes and proclaimed they would consider the apocalypse a "rebirth" and proceeded (with his advanced engineering) to clear radioactivity from America and make it livable again. With the help of his crew, he builds a high security city and begins to build out past the east coast. Shortly after he rebuilds NY, he disappears and his advisor rises to power. He is a fair but cruel master (calling himself a Lord) and some people refuse to work for him. These people manage to escape the oppression of the Lord and live out on the wasteland that was once a great country. Some band together to make right communities and others rough it out by themselves, scavenging for a living.
