Ashley has had a tough life. Mom walked out when she was eight. Dad became an abusive drunk towards her older brother, Daniel, and herself. Her brother is twenty three but didn't move out so he could help Ashley.
Ashley is 17, in her senior year, and gets into a lot of trouble.
So when Tyler, a popular, good for nothing guy starts talking to her she gets frustrated and pushes him away.
But the sight of him makes her feel... Different.
Maybe Tyler will change her habits of not letting people get close.
Or maybe he will make herself become even more isolated.

Looking at him from across the cafeteria my heart just stops. He bites his lower lip slightly as he reads the following words off of his new book, adjusting his hair from time to time.
