Bitchdays occur once a year for each person, but every single day of the year is also another bitchday. I started calling them bitchdays because those are the days a person can be in full-on-bitch mode, and no one can blame them or get mad at them.

Because it's their birthday.

➳

Birthdays are the annual occurrence that everyone puts up with. They let the birthday child celebrate and do as said child pleases. Then again, it isn't always children. The point is, birthdays are accepted into the lives of others as if they're natural.

May Pineda is one of the few exceptions.

May's mother is the local party planner. Although that seems normal and irrelevant, Mrs. Marybeth Pineda specializes in birthdays. Ever since the business bloomed, the Pineda children were roped into helping out. May's hatred for birthdays grew as she developed in age, and it didn't seem that it could be relinquished. May's feelings seemed set in stone, until one party goes haywire and drastically changes her.
