With the rise of a totalitarian government valuing the rich and privileged, "inferior" races, lower-class citizens, homeless, and the disabled are chased away to the deepest, darkest, and worst parts of the city: the slums. Rebellion brews as an elite group of rebels attempt to overthrow the government, facing not only the dictator's private army, but also must battle a monstrous bounty hunter set to destroy the world, a rival gang, and a rogue military force. (If you haven't read the first book, stop here! Don't spoil yourself, the first book is also on my profile) The death of a friend can break a person, or reshape them. It could be the straw that broke the camel's back, or a motivator, a push in the right direction. Aiden isn't sure where he falls. All he knows is the guilt and the desire for vengeance. Maybe things could've been different if he hadn't made such a disastrous mistake. But then an opportunity arises for Aiden to learn more about his fallen comrade, to get to know him even beyond the grave. And like death, everything that follows could make or break the rebellion. Note: This story contains a subplot featuring a romance between two boys. It's presented as normal. If you have a problem with the lgbt+ community, then this isn't the book - or authour - for you. I'm a member of the community myself. Happy pride month! Spread love, not hate. <3
