Jimena's just trying to find a balance in her life.   

She's spending time with her daughter, going to all of her classes, helping her grandparents out, and works part-time and it's working for her.  She dreams of going to a university and following her dream of working in social services. However she never expected that her last year in high school would be so chaotic due to a chance encounter. 

Estaban's trying to stay out of trouble. 

He's a smart-ass student with a bright future ahead of him but he keeps getting into fights. He dreams of becoming a lawyer to help the defenseless but he needs to stay on track in school. After staying out late post detention will he finally be able to change his life around?
