A twenty-one year old college student has lived her whole life being a wallflower, but after her friend and roommate, Ashley, is murdered before her very eyes (with her parting words being to live for her) her whole day-to-day life is made walk the plank. The only thing now getting in the way of her coping with her friend's death and practicing her new taken on life perspective, is being suspected to be Ashley's murderer.
With her only accountable witness being The Chug's bartender, the chance of being thrown in the slammer for life hangs over her head... severely.

It was a dark cold night-the night where the birds lay dead on the cold ground, listening in to the deceased whispers. This is the night where blood was once spilled. Jeremy hid behind a tree, holding on his thigh-his thigh was bleeding as he got stabbed. Jeremy looked at his wound, cursing under his breath. Jeremy looked around to see if anyone was nearby, there wasn't anyone nearby but he could hear the screaming of his pals. He could do nothing but to weep, he got out of his hiding spot and went deeper into the woods. He was wincing in pain as he dragged his injured leg. It was dark, too dark to the point even the moonlight couldn't provide light. Jeremy tripped over a tree root, he winced in pain, squeezing his injured thigh in pain. He soon heard a twig being snapped close to him. He pulled himself together, getting back on his feet. Dragging his leg once more. This time he raised the pace, panicking as he knew that he was being followed. He soon came across an abandoned truck that was in a small field. He smiled in relief, getting inside of the truck. He heard movement from his right, seeing a silhouette of a being that was coming closer to him. He panicked, climbing to the other seat to close the door. Once the door was closed, he locked the doors-backing away after. The door handle was being pulled aggressively but soon stopped. He took off his jacket and wrapped it around his thigh, he winced in pain as he made it tight. He looked around the truck, trying not to move too much. He eventually found a pen and a piece of paper. I woke up in a hospital bed, the pain I was feeling was intense. All I remember was practicing gymnastics and then well everything went black. And now the only things I hear are the sound of my heart monitor and the slow dripping of the IV into my arm. The air in the room felt stale, the silence was so "loud" I felt like I could hear my own heart beat. I heard I light knock on the door to my room, the doctor walked in, kind of solemn looking. I got worried, I immediately asked him "Hi doctor, is there something wrong?" " With you? No, your vitals seems stable. But I thought that you should be aware of this now." "Be aware of what?" "It's about your parents." "What about them are they okay?" "No, not exactly. They were in a car accident a couple of days ago, and your father flew through the windshield and broke his leg. Your mother is in a coma and isn't waking up. They are both located at Helena Hospital." This is a story about a girl named Jessica White who is 17 yrs. old and has been a gymnast since she was four. While practicing one day she fell off a high beam and was knocked unconscious, while in the hospital she is informed her parents were in terrible car accident and her mother is now in a coma. Throughout the story Jessica's family breaks, her friendships grow, her trust deteriorates, lost loves return, many tears are shed and hearts are broken but despite the pain her life goes on.
