Cyrus carries many heavy burdens - he's only a junior in highschool and already accepted as one of the most powerful superhumans on the planet. The mantle of "Superhero Protector of New York" has recently fallen from his dad onto him, and he's trying to live up to the expectations of a true legend.
While new monsters, sly criminals, and supervillains stalk the streets on a daily basis, devastating cybernetic technologies have been sweeping the criminal underworld. Crimelords have grasped at power for decades, but nothing has altered the game as much as Cyberware. On top of that, an old arch-enemy has unexpectedly returned and proven he'll do anything to desolate those who get in his way.
Every day is a busy venture for Cyrus, who has to juggle his superhero duties with highschool, friends, romance, and family. Meanwhile, dark memories keep creeping in on him, threatening his mental stability. Struggling to find a balance and not be overwhelmed on all fronts is rough, even for a teenager who can bench-press buildings.

Emerson Rogers liked to think of himself as an ordinary teenager. After all, he had no reason to believe otherwise. He went to an upstanding private school with the rest of his friends, was a straight-A student, had no disciplinary issues, and was well-liked according to his classmates and teachers. If anyone were to take a glance at him, they would assume that he was just another carefree rich kid with no problems in his life to worry about. Unless you consider the fact that his evening plans included putting on a blue super suit and speeding through the streets as a crime-fighting superhero. With Emerson starting his senior year of high school, things have started to become a bit more tricky than he would've preferred. Defending Jefferson City and maintaining a normal school life as a cover can be hard, but throw in his best friend getting closer to the truth about his alter-ego's identity and a mysterious villain working from the shadows who always seems to be two steps ahead, living a double life is going to be his biggest challenge yet. Especially when new villains start crawling out of the woodwork, thirsty for a fight, and his old villains return stronger, angrier, and looking to settle a score. As Emerson starts to uncover the truth behind where all these villains are coming from, he finds that not everything is what it seems on the surface. Shock and Awe (Enhanced Book 1)
I didn't mean to fall in love with my brother's best friend. Kingsley Pierce has been my enemy since he befriended my twin brother in first grade. Who constantly tugged my pigtails at nap time in second grade? Kingsley. Who was to blame in fifth grade when an entire bottle of glitter glue just happened to pour onto my head? Kingsley. I, on the other hand, partnered with the government to rise up as Tri-City's hero when the last one disappeared only two years ago. Despite being all by myself, I've put away more Advanced supers than I want to count - never losing a fight. My undefeated streak comes to a screeching halt when a new super appears out of nowhere.
