Bird Song

It is Logan's twelfth birthday when he is walking across the street to GameStop and is struck full-on by an out-of-control car and taken to the NYC hospital, where, to everyone's surprise, including his own, he recovers from a broken spine incredibly quickly and is back to full health like nothing ever happened. Approximately four thousand, eight hundred and four miles south in the famed Rio De Janeiro, a girl named Emery falls from a window and breaks her ribs, and, she too recovers amazingly quickly. A month later, both are standing in their bedrooms so far away when they feel a strange sensation before going to bed. They wake up in the middle of the night from dreams of flying and, most queer of all, with wings. How is this possible? Are they somehow connected?
