The rebirth of the Hero and Goddess Hylia's vessel is different this time around.

Born in an era surrounded by radiation, blood, and uncertainty, Link finds himself simple patrol guard of Hyrule Isles, a large island home to many of his friends and family. Unaware of his rebirth every time Hyrule is in danger, Link lives with a veil separating him and his destiny. And that veil is lifted when his best friend leaves the safety of the island to find his father.

Impossibly ready to embark on a great, perilous journey, Link battles through creatures--human and not--that have been affected by the great Guardian radiation. Finding some surprising friends and allies along the way, Link slowly uncovers the secrets of the Ordinance of the Sheikah as well as secrets about himself.

"Princess!" he yelled after her. "Where are you going?" "Back to the castle," she replied without stopping. "Not by yourself you're not!" "I'm sorry,"-she whipped around-"I didn't realize you were my father?" "Your father, the king, would execute me for letting you travel by yourself." "Oh, so this is about self-preservation?" "Yes. Yours. There are monsters all over Hyrule now, Your Highness." Blue eyes pointedly looked her up and down. "And by the looks of it, you're not equipped to handle that." She mirrored his scrutiny and scoffed. "What, and you are?" She gestured to the cairns beyond the trees. "Are you going to protect me as well as you protected them?" Calamity is upon Hyrule. The Goddess Hylia appointed but two children to prevent the end of the world. The powers they were promised don't come easily, and after years of outright failure, Princess Zelda can't help but wonder if Hylia chose wrong. It certainly doesn't help that the boy fate has tangled her with makes her seethe. Devotion, heartbreak, inadequacy. Faith, perseverance, and courage. This is a story of finding what lies within. [This story is set in a fusion of Breath of the Wild/Tears of the Kingdom, with a couple tweaks and some familiar faces'n'places from older games joining along the way!] Thank you for the #1 spot in the Zelda tag! 💗 And thank you for #1 in PrincessZelda and #2 in Zelink! "....How? ....How did it come to this? The Divine Beasts... the Guardians.... they've all turned against us. It was... Calamity Ganon. It turned them all against us!" The Kingdom of Hyrule had been preparing for Ganon's return since Zelda was only months old. But a now grown-up Zelda stood, well sat, collapsed on the ground of a Neculdian field with the man she loved bleeding out in her arms. There had never been a Zelda who'd failed, a Link who allowed darkness to reign, but Hyrule had fallen dead. The fight had been lost. At the scream of the scared sword, Zelda was alone. Scared, injured, pregnant... alone. But she was the final descendant of Hylia. She had to fight on, even if alone. The future of Hyrule's survivors depended on her, for Link couldn't return if there was no Hyrule to return to. Cover art belongs to Werlosk from Twitter.
