Eric, the Dauntless leader and trainer falls for my own character that I added to the story and gets protective and caring for her. The romance between Tris and Four are still there but I wanted to add a story for my favorite character, and show how his life would turn out.

The Transfer (A Divergent backstory to Eric)
This is a backstory for Eric. I've taken bits and pieces from the Divergent series and also the movie. I also used the book about Four that recently came out. It takes you through his journey through initiation on in to leadership. He also develops a love interest that isn't in either the books or the movie. I wanted him to have a softer side that only she'll see. She stared up at the white ceiling, imagining what the seconds, minutes and hours would sound like as they rushed by. Time was such a strange thing. One moment you can feel as if there's too much of it, and in the next moment there's not enough. Time probably passes silently for a reason. If it made a sound it would probably be unpleasant. A constant screaming reminder of the moments that were wasted, taken for granted, stolen away or lost. A raging celebration of the moments that were precious, intimate and full. It would probably be too loud for a person's ears to handle, and we would crumble under the pressure. ***Intended for adults only!
