Some secrets are better left buried...
Holden Beach is a small town in Southern Illinois. With a population of only 3,100; Holden Beach is a mere blip on a map. And for the record, there is no actual "beach" in Holden Beach, so the name really makes no sense. Dense foliage and cliffs and valleys are not foreign to Holden Beach. Its residents are simple-minded individuals who pride themselves on kindness and chivalry. To the outsider looking in, Holden Beach seems like your everyday, run-of-the-mill functioning small town. What the outsiders don't know, however, is that there are many secrets within the town. Secrets that should stay under lock and key.
Enter Billy Meyer, a senior at Holden Beach High School. His family has never left Holden Beach, but Billy plans to break that cycle. With his eyes set on a future in a big city, Billy plans to make the most of the remainder of his senior year and experience as much of Holden Beach as he can before he says goodbye. Therefore, in early October, when Billy is invited to a party at his friend's family cabin, he immediately accepts. The weekend at the cabin begins like any typical high school party, but what is discovered within the house begins to unveil a history that none of the teens could have imagined about their beloved town.
