Here is the synopsis for Beautiful Strangers.
Raziel's life couldn't be more perfect. She has a wonderful mother she can't live without and a best friend who is more like a sister. Then one day, her life spirals out of control when her best friend is kidnapped and murdered. Her appearance changes drastically and she begins emanating powers she isn't aware she is doing. Raziel didn't think life could get any worse, until her stepfather murders her mother. Then she is in and out of foster homes. Her powers, she isn't aware of, seems to be getting stronger. When she feels she is getting her life back together, something else happens. It's like a never-ending battle for happiness. Will she ever find happiness again? Is this just the beginning of her chaotic life?
Brent is not a typical vampire. So, when Michaela approaches him one night with a certain quest, he is intrigued. Even though he has no clue what's in store for him on this quest to protect Raziel's life, he graciously accepts. He is completely unaware of the fact that he will have his own battles to face.
