Elizabeth Grey is just an ordinary girl despite a few major factors. 1. She's 16 and living on her own. Her parents have no idea who she is. 2. The reason her parents don't know who she is, is because she has this weird power to make people forget her. All of her life she has made people forget her. She doesn't want to be lingering in people's mind. She simply doesn't feel important enough to take up that space, however small it may be. Summer hits and Elizabeth is thankful because a long summer means no school which means she no longer needs to make people forget her. But a new family moves in next door to the house that has been abandoned ever since it's previous owners death right on the front porch. Along with the new neighbors comes their son, Alec Williams. He's incredibly gorgeous and Elizabeth finds herself developing a crush on the blue eyed, black hair boy. But what's weird about him is that he doesn't forget her despite how hard she tries. Looks like Alec Williams has a secret of his own.

Meet Violet Summers. She's the sarcastic girl who doesn't really ever get noticed by anyone. She blends into any crowd because of how "normal" she is. And she loves it. She wouldn't be able to stand the attention of everyone around her. That's why she won't tell Ryan Bloore, her crush for three years, that she practically worships the ground he walks on. Ryan is the captain of the basketball team at their school, so guys see him like he's a god and girls act like he walks on water. If they were to date, all eyes would be on her- she would be under everyone's scrutiny. So she's kept her feelings a secret, and she's done her best to suppress her emotions these past years, but she's realized that she's been so caught up in making people not notice her that she didn't realize how lonely she would be when no one was watching. Now meet Ryder Knight. School bad boy. Quarterback captain and heartthrob. The kind that wears a leather jacket and has tattoos all over his arms. The one who shows up to school riding a motorcycle. Just your average run of the mill "if you get involved with this guy, you will meet some serious trouble" kind of male. Well, too bad for Violet, she's stuck with him now. After all of the years of pushing away her feelings for Ryan because of her fear of being seen, she is now all anyone can look at- because of Ryder. Because of him, she can feel their stares, and she hates him for it. The longer they spend time together, the more Ryder starts to realize he actually enjoys being around her-despite her snarky comments about how much she despises him. And if Violet is being completely honest with herself, she's also starting to realize she might not actually hate the fact that people are noticing her now, but hate the way Ryder makes her feel.
