Imagine everyone hating you and your entire family? Not to mention you get shipped off to spend your time at a boarding school for odd misfits with a penchant for magic tricks. Fartlicks school for the magically inclined is an out of the way sort place in the wilderness of Switzerland where there ordinary go to become extraordinary or so the website says. For Donovan Hayter, last son of the family everyone hates, the school is anything, but magical. He has no talent despite coming from a family of very powerful and evil magicians. Through the most unlikely of friends (Marty and Teresa) he may yet discover there is a different kind of magic.

New school. New home. New Life. New bullies. Daniel didn't ask for any of it. Yet here he is. Life still sucks. And he's had just about enough of it. However, the biggest challenge is yet to come. Afterall, has his shadow been moving on its own? Or is it just his imagination. Follow the story of 14-year-old Daniel as he learns how to get through life. How to grow up. And how to love in multiple ways. Opening his heart and mind to the world and people around him. Rated mature for: Swearing Mature concepts Violence This book is dedicated to everyone who inspired me, encouraged me and stuck by me while I debated giving up on the concept for this book altogether. You all know who you are... I wanted to tell a story that breaks the norm to some aspect. Where the main character is a boy, not a girl. Where he is not perfect. And where he is even a - not bad - but does bad things sometimes. It's a story of coming into yourself and forging your own path. Despite how hard that path can be to walk. Choices you face, how you'll react to them. What to do when you've done something bad and how you can fix it. If you should fix it. Each choice you make - weather you realize it or not - forges the person you are. For every door you close another one is waiting to be opened. This is not a perfect story, but it's one I want to tell. One that comes from a personal place in my heart and one that is born in reality and bathed in fantasy. This story will deal with aspects of both worlds. And sometimes touch on heavier topics. Be prepared, to read about a character who is the farthest thing from perfect. But he doesn't need to be. He just needs to be himself. Oh, how hard that truly is.

*Completed story* Samuel is a typical jock, used to moving and changing schools often, and fitting right in like nothing happened. At this new school, Sam makes an unexpected friend, Miles, who might just become his first genuine friend. But Miles is not an ordinary boy; he is a witch, gifted with the power of necromancy. Miles' magic fascinates Sam and he even tries to help his friend develop his powers. After all, the only other witch Miles knows is his mother who is too busy being intoxicated and abusive to be of any help. An unexpected tragedy at their school threatens to reveal Miles' secret and the world of the witches as a whole.
