Alexa Parker is the only human in a school for vampires, werewolves, and elementals. She constantly gets the crap beaten out of her everyday by all of the three races, but neither of the other two are as bad as the vampires. Especially the vampire queen, Gloria Blood-tongue. To them, she's just human scum. If anything, she much prefers getting beaten up by either the elementals or the werewolves.

Leah Moon-tail is a werewolf, and not just any werewolf: an Ultima werewolf. Meaning she has more power than any other werewolf: she alone has the ability to turn people into werewolves. Only thing is, she hates the power, and she hates being an alpha as well. Especially since she's gotta get a mate soon, and who wants to be mates with someone like her?
