He tried to die. He failed. Now he needs to learn how to live again.
Meet Oscar Campos. He's a senior in high school, loves creating art, and has the snarkiest, most pessimistic attitude most people have ever encountered. He's also suicidal. Following his attempt, his therapist challenges him to find reasons to live and write about each one.
This story follows Oscar's journey as he learns to unpack the complex layers of who he is and how to cope with them. Struggling to stay afloat amid his mental illness, confusing sexuality, and an ever-distant father, he decides to do the one thing that he thinks might bring him some peace. With the help of his best friend, Oscar sets out to find the mother that left him as a young child, as well as, hopefully, enough reasons not to die.

More specifically strangers. He has always found peace in helping those who suffer in silence. When River is approached by a man who expresses his depressive tendencies, he decides to take the broken stranger for coffee, out of fear of what might happen if he lets him go. River tells him to offload, release all the sadness and frustration he has into someone who knows nothing about him. But when he leaves, River can't stop thinking about him.
