"That's okay, Miss Clern. I'm not well versed in English, you see. I tend to fumble and mix up words when I'm speaking too fast.", Elizabeth said.
"Well, reading will certainly help you there.", Clern replied.
"I hope it does."
"I believe you wanted this", Louis said handing over the book she had been reading.
"Yes, of course", she said.
She finally took all her books to the horse shed. Louis followed her with his own stack.
"What were you asking about that she did not understand?", he asked catching up to her.
"I was asking her about the books we had read. I fumbled when I got excited and spoke too rapidly. I believe you overheard that too.", she snapped.
"Of all people I would expect to fumble, the one who knew as many languages as the number of kingdoms would be last on my list."
Elizabeth froze. Had he heard her speaking the ancient tongue?
"Did you hear the question I asked her?", she said, looking directly up to him.
"No", he replied. There was no sign of dishonesty on his face and Elizabeth believed him.

"Let them go, Dante." I whip my head to see a small boy standing the clearing with blonde hair and a green cloak hanging from shoulders. He isn't very tall however he holds his stance well. He doesn't seem to be more than Cassandra's age. Maybe 12 at most. I abruptly turn my head back hearing the man holding a sword to my throat chuckling with a sinister grin. "Oh, poor boy, what are you go to do about it?" The yellow teeth gleam as he begins stalking towards the boy who does not look the least bit fazed. I look around at the other men who are following the leader. I pull Cassandra tighter to my back as I take small steps back. I keep my eye trained on the men but also fear for the naive boy. "Do you really want to test me Dante?" He asks raising a single eyebrow. For a minute the men stop their movements. I see their hesitation for fear... Fear of what? I take the moment to stick Cassandra behind a nearby tree. She crouches down while I pull my sword out from its place. "How do you know my name?" The scoundrel raises his sword challenging towards the boy before taking a final step towards him. Then the unexpected happens. The young boy chuckles so darkly. It sounded almost... demonic. All the men instinctively raise their swords. "Oh Dante, I didn't know your name... but you know someone dear to me." "Spit it out boy!" The once grinning man is now looking around frantically. I continue my eyes scanning the small boy. He looks directly me and gives me a small nod before saying one word that caused all hell to breaks loose. "Artemis." Artemis is not an ordinary girl. She grew up in the wilderness after being shunned due to unique abilities and her different physical attributes. Blessed with an ability that scared others, she roams the wild with only her guarded one. That is until she stumbles into a situation that brings her in front of a prince.

The friendly natives, polite children, rumored spirits of the past, the lush greenery, it was something straight out of a fairytale! After a few weeks of living in her new home, she stumbled upon castle ruins in the forest surrounding the village. Whispers tempted her to go further- seek out more information on it. And she did exactly that. In the basement, [Y/n] found an old, worn out mirror covered in dust. Ornate patterns and foreign runes were carved into the frame. She knew how to speak the tongue of Mirage, and so she read aloud the runes on the mirror. As she did, her reflection on the mirror ripples like water, and she gets transported back in time, centuries before she had even been conceived. Immediately, she was captured and taken to the king as a spy. To return back home, she has to convince the king to spare her life, but at what price? And with the spark between her and the king- perhaps she has yet to discover where home may truly be. "𝙔𝙤𝙪 𝙖𝙧𝙚 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙘𝙖𝙪𝙨𝙚 𝙤𝙛 𝙢𝙮 𝙗𝙚𝙞𝙣𝙜; 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙛𝙖𝙪𝙡𝙩 𝙤𝙛 𝙢𝙮 𝙘𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙨𝙤𝙣 𝙤𝙛 𝙢𝙮 𝙙𝙚𝙢𝙞𝙨𝙚. A fairytale kingdom A Crowned Prince A girl with a lost identity Love Betrayal Heartbreak and Friendships With all the above ingredients in a story won't you call it a royal cliché? ******** "Have we ever met before Miss Walsh?" Dread crept through me and with my ass half suspended in the air I answered him... "No... No I... umm... I don't think so," Oh God this is not going well. "I mean yes, if you have ever been to the Black Bean Café down on the 6th street. I used to work there as a barista or maybe at the metro station? Sure you must have seen me before." METRO STATION? What is wrong with me? ********* "Nicholas, try to understand. What if she comes back?" "She isn't going to..." he says frustrated. The next words were unclear so I press my ear to the wall, as he says, "... and that is why I am going to convince the King of Astéria, Mr. Wellington I mean, and the other Board Members in the next board meeting to hand over her share in the company to me. I will then..." Anger surges through me, tears fill my eyes and I run from there as fast as my heels could take me and hide in the ladies room. ********** [word count: 100000-105000]
