Nevrestir est sur le point de connaître son hiver le plus terrible : des meurtres sanguinolents se répètent et effraient les habitants. Ces derniers redoutent le retour des loup-garous, et seront prêts à tout pour nous exterminer. Je menais l'enquête, afin de protéger ma meute, elle qui prospérait dans le secret depuis des années et des années.
Mais Sindar, aussi étrange et froid fut-il, apparaît au même moment. Sindar, sans meute, mais pourvu d'un grand mystère qui lui valait la peine d'être nommé suspect numéro un de ma liste. Mais, à mon grand dam, mon suspect devient aussi mon acolyte le plus précieux dans ma grande enquête...
