(Formally called the guru gardener) Lila is the youngest of four children so she's often over looked. Her life has been complicated and she had to grow up fast and at a young age when her mother left. Friends are hard to find and lila stops trusting people once her best friend betrays her and her family. But her dad employs a new gardener guy who could change her life. He is wise and old and has eyes that she can tell have seen the world. So is this hippy weirdo the father figure and bestfriend she has been looking for all her life or will he just let her down like everybody else? When the only person who ever broke her heart comes crashing back into her life she needs someone to confide in, someone to give her advice over her confused feelings and comfort her so who better than the new gardener who can teach her things that will help her figure if she really is okay.

Adele has her work cut out for her. The woman running the First Street Orphanage before her, left abruptly and the accounting records are a complete mess. She's pretty sure the woman was embezzling money that was supposed to keep the place running, but she's going to have to delve deeper into the books to find out how she did it. And if that wasn't going to keep her busy enough, a strange man with a strange connection to the orphanage has shown up on her doorstep and won't go away. She's made it her mission to repair the damage that's been done, but is suspicious of this strange man. She finds it hard to trust him when his knowledge of what happened makes her suspect he may have been involved.
