I was sure the worst thing to ever happen to me would be being kidnapped, and sure, that was pretty bad. However, what was worse was being kidnapped, held captive for years, and then being auctioned off to the highest bidder. I thought maybe I had caught a little break when I found out that me and five other girls were being sold to royalty, but I should have known something about that wasn't right either. Under the cover of eternal darkness, and deep beneath the ground, was a whole world I never even dreamed existed in my wildest dreams. Fae Dick thought when the Selection of Prince Asher was announced that she should enter. She knew her family wouldn't be too thrilled at the prospect, but Fae was always known to do things spontaneously, and she was looking to get more out of her antique appraisaled, auctioneer, career driven life. She wasn't sure what it was, but entering the Selection was a gut decision she knew she couldn't pass up. And so she entered. And got in. She didn't know what to expect when she arrived. With everything she knew about the royal family, she knew it could never prepare her for real life interactions with them, especially not Prince Asher. She knew she had set her hopes up too high when she thought of him, especially when she found out he was an arrogant jerk who treated her with polite coldness upon their first meeting. As the Selection continued on, there were more questions Fae found herself asking about the Prince, things not even the whole of Illéa knew about him, making her even question her decision to enter.
