In a world where the Avatar cycles through the four elements, a mistake is made after Avatar Aang is frozen in the ice. His heart stops for five minutes, long enough for a sizable piece of the Avatar spirit to break off before his heart begins beating again. The broken spirit piece is lost to the spirit world, and 12 years before Aang is discovered, a baby girl is born as the new Avatar. Because the world assumed the Avatar cycle was broken, she is never discovered as the Avatar, let alone a bender at all. Several years after the world is saved from Ozai, Aang takes a personal leave to figure things out with himself, after a messy breakup with Katara. On a small, seemingly deserted island outside the earth kingdom, he finds Y/N, who he discovers can bend unknowingly. A fire sparks between the two of them, and they find that they are the first ever co-Avatars in existence, which could turn out to be a problem, considering Y/N's spirit is trying to rip itself in half to meld together with Aang's once more.
