This story is a side follow-up to my main book on Amazon Kindle called H.E.R.O chapter 1. The story takes place in an alternate Earth we're heroes and villains fight each other for supremacy. However after an incident in 2016 which led to the devastation of heroes across the planet the remaining ones were hunted down and killed by the criminals that had formed leagues to take them all out. In the ensuing destruction of the hero organization and the collapse of their main power base and structure the heroes were forced to flee and seek protection amongst communities that would accept them while the criminals had gotten free reign with unchecked power across Nations. However not all heroes are ready to give up the fight as the story follows two heroes traveling across the nation that have stopped in the area of Seattle to make a living for themselves and to decide whether to give it all up and seek a normal life. However little do they know that their boss has a plan to help the heroes out with their fight which will have untold consequences for the world at large.

I am a reader of crime novels and hard science fiction almost exclusively, and yet this story, which I have been writing for a long time, is a love story, I can't explain it even to myself. The characters will have to work through hardship and evolve to be able to surrender to the magical things around them and the flow of the universe and the love of other people. The boy, desperate to find someone to help him save his sister, leaves the city and finds one of the youngest cooperative packs in North America, called the Raiders, comprised of unwanted individuals with the strange powers left from the destruction of years past. Their leader, a destructive insomniac, promises to help him in return for the skills and usefulness this young boy seems to possess, but something disrupting sends waves of unease through the Raiders, something about a forgotten past and talk of a mutiny.
