Nick Finley is the douche of the school. He takes his popularity for granted and tends to shove it into everyone's faces. But, Nick was raised into a very strict and religious family. His father is the fellow priest of the church in town and expects his only son Nick to take his place once he steps down. But of course, Nick doesn't want too.
He's keeping too many secrets for his own good, from everybody. He was taught that homosexuality was wrong and a sin. So why was he bisexual? Why did God curse him? Thankfully, by the help of Nick's best friend Cole Matthews and Nick's ex boyfriend Ryan Hudson who is now Cole's new boyfriend, Nick is slowly beginning to accept himself with coming to terms with being bisexual. He shouldn't have to change himself just to please others. For once in his life, Nick feels as if he can be himself.
But, he crosses paths with one boy who changes his entire perspective on the world.
Carter Lance Ryland grew up in a small town just outside of Kansas. He was bullied by the students at school and severely tortured by his own flesh and blood for being gay. At the age of thirteen, Carter bravely decides to run away from everything. To disappear. Carter has been living on the streets by himself for the past three years, unsure when his next meal will be as the days go on. Traveling from state to state and fighting the cold and suffering the pain by himself, Carter's heart continues to beat. But, for how long?
