This tale takes place in present day. Not the present day you're thinking of, but a present day that is more technologically advanced by a couple hundred years. Humanity is in it's beginning stages of space travel, just about to make that jump to the stars and planets once thought impossible to reach. Our story, or rather his story, starts in Belfast, Northern Ireland. Who am I referring to? That would be Donald "Bard" MacKenna, who is about to get some news that will change his life and make a decision that could change his life forever.

The Hawaiian Special Forces
This is the story I'm writing for NaNoWriMo 2015. The goal: 50,000 word RAW draft written entirely in the month of November. Unlike most of my stories, which I prefer to edit before posting, I'm actually going to post updates to this at the end of each day in chapter-sized chunks. The idea behind this story is that a terrorist attack in the near future causes the US to go hyper-isolationist, to the point that it abandons Hawaii and Alaska to fend for themselves. They do, forming the United Pacific States (maybe with a few other island countries). Hawaii then goes on to turn itself into the new world police with stealthy, genetically modified cyber-soldiers. I'm marking this story as mature because there will be action scenes, and probably some interesting perspectives on nudity and relationships. The Abyss of Time
Twenty years after the end of the Cyborg War, the last cyborgs try to hijack a starship on its way to terraform an alien world. They want the new colony to be a cyborg colony in which they will rebuild their strength and practice their way of life. During the fighting, though, the starship is damaged, so that instead of travelling light years across space it ends up a billion years in the future, alongside a planet Earth that is near the end of its life. The cyborgs, momentarily defeated, leave the ship in a captured landing craft and go down to the planet, but before they go they sabotage the ship so that it is no longer able to support life. The crew have no choice but to follow them down to the planet where they have to fight not just the cyborgs but also forms of life a billion years more evolved than humans. Creatures that have grown tough and hardy in an attempt to cope with the increasingly harsh conditions that prevail there. As if things weren't bad enough, there is conflict among the ship's crew as they fight to decide which of them will be in charge and how they will meet the challenges facing them, and even if they survive all this they will still have to deal with the discovery of the ultimate fate that awaits all intelligent life in the universe...Lengkap
