Remember me? Few years ago... A night to remember. On a shallow road, with a seemingly never-ending rain pouring down heavily, and streetlights barely illuminating the place, silence seemed so right. It was an almost empty road but with two people. Few light rays hit them, making their silhouettes visible from afar. Drenched under the rain, the girl was standing like a statue. And in front of her was the boy, her long-term boyfriend. Her soul mate. The one she had been waiting for. But what is this? He smirked, finally breaking their silence. He told her 'it's over' so quickly, like they just played a game and she lost. He called it quits between her, and walked away without regret. His face, his gestures and his words were like spears stabbed into her soul. He didn't care. And being left alone, her shoulders shook and she covered her face with her hands as tears finally escaped from her eyes. Her knees felt numb and suddenly, she knelt down, still crying. "Forever?" I asked him, watching as his features all shined through with happiness. I tilted my head to the side as he let out a small laugh. "Forever," he agreed, evoking a smile from me. When Austin said it, I believed it, I believed it with every single fiber of my being. I didn't believe it with anyone from the past, not even Stephan, my ex fiance. I don't know what it was about Austin that made it believable, and I hopped that nothing would be able to take him away from me. I knew it was a lot to ask, and I would be fine if he decided to leave me. Austin was good for me, he really was. There wasn't a doubt in my mind that he was good for me. He made me happy, I made him happy (as far as I could tell). He made me want to be a better person every day. I knew that he was more than what I wanted, and I was glad he was mine, that he has been mine for over a year. Erkenci Kuş: Broken Promises
Snippets of alternate outcomes in the lives and enduring love story of Can Divit and Sanem Aydin. When I started out with this story, I only intended to loosely base the 'short piece' on the events in Bolum (Episodes) 17 & 18 however, I got such positive feedback, I decided to stretch it out a bit. I'm still unsure how far I will stretch it but so far, I'm enjoying writing it and will keep going till I run out of steam. I can't think of any show/movie that I've watched in recent times to which I have reacted as I did when I watched Erkenci Kuş. The characters hooked their claws into me and wouldn't let go. I rooted for Sanem and Can; cried and laughed with them; railed at and cursed their detractors and finally rejoiced over their reunion. However, the ending was so rushed. After all the angst we were put through with their relationship, I felt robbed of an extended happily-ever-after. What we were given was too short. I hope to right that wrong, amongst others, with this story. Though I only watched the show in Jan/Feb 2023, I have since rewatched it countless times. There were certain parts of the plot which wound me up so much so this is me writing what I wished had happened. Enjoy!Concluida

After our third anniversary, he started to become cold. He no longer joins me studying, he was even reasoning out that he's tired all the time and that he couldn't send me home. I said it was fine, I can manage. I thought it was just that, but it wasn't. I decided to confront him, I went to his condo and there, my greatest fear welcomed me without warning. He was with a woman, a pregnant woman. He was holding her like she's the most fragile thing on earth. They looked so happy. I didn't know how I managed to compose myself and walked towards them. As soon as our eyes met, he froze. I looked at the woman tensely and lifted my hand as I introduced myself as his classmate and she introduced herself as his girlfriend for a year, already. He said he loves her more. That every time we are together, his mind was with her. He said I make him hard, but she makes him weak. He said I make him feel special, but she makes him feel loved. Stronger
I really loved EK up to episode 19, after that, they made Sanem act too childish, awkward and unworthy of being a strong and intelligent woman. From then on, and especially the scene at the hut where Can lost it, I almost felt insulted that a young woman could be portrayed in such a weak and stupid way; and that she would blame herself after a man would treat her with so much violence and disrespect. I am slowly learning to like the character of Can again but mostly felt the need to write my ''dream'' version of EK after Sanem tells Can ''you have decided to leave, good bye''. I like happy ending don't worry, but Can won't have it easy!!! I own no rights over characters, and I am not a frequent writer apart from uni and work assignments/reports😊 oh and I am not a native English speaker. Yigit is not Polen's brother in this story, because it was utterly RIDICULOUS!!!! LolConcluida
