She wanted to go through the process so nobody could say shes were she is just because of her dad. if you couldn't see her last name look again. that's right.
Her dad is "Stone Cold" Steve Austin. She don't like her mom because she cheated on her dad multiple times and her dad took her back each time. she hated that she hurt her dad so much.
When she's gets to the big leads she instantly bounces to the top because of her talent not her blood and she catches the enemy eye of the Sheild as soon and her boldness and confidence just radiating off of her. She intrigues them.

The only person who has never been cured is Dean, at 17 now his parents have given up hope of ever having a normal child. They completely disowned him, and moved away with their hopes of starting over. Only when is no help left for you, are you sent there. All AJ can think is "I'm not crazy enough to go there", being moved from Union City, New Jersey to Cincinnati, Ohio.
