After an accident in his parents Lab Danny Fenton became a half ghost, half alive half dead, suspended between both worlds, at the fragile age of 9. His closest friends betrayed him and his parents found out about what he was at age 10. That same day he was sent to some strange lab to "fix" him. Danny didn't see the sun again until a year later. By then he had learned to shy away from it. His kind were unnatural, his kind were evil. In order to keep everyone safe he wasn't supposed to leave. But when a blue man in a purple cloak appeared Danny was swept away into a fantastical world of adventure. Meeting friends along the way and making a new family.

But now his new home, his new family, is under attack from the very people who brought him into the world, led by a fearsome enemy of deceit and denial. Can he save all that he holds dear or will the world come crumbling down around the Clockwork Apprentice?
