What would happen if 15 seconds were all you had to save your life? Maria Aphmau Jessica Irene Phoenix is a mermaid hiding out of her ocean home in a town called Phoenix drop, the capital of the Dragon World. Dragons, or Dragon Shifters, hate mermaids, making Phoenix Drop the safest and most dangerous place for the mermaid princess to hide from Poseidon, Ruler of the Ocean. After Aphmau inherited her mother Irene's powers, her father Poseidon was determined to kill her and take her powers for himself, forcing Aphmau to hide in the town of dragons. Hiding as a dragon in the seaside city, she lives life as a normal teen in a beachside mansion with her friend and guard, Teony, who hooked her up with it. Where will the currents of life sweep her next?

The Kingdom of Ru'aun was rich and plentifully, if you were lucky enough to live in the inner city, Falcon Claw. After 6 years of intense, tiring combat training and schooling, she'd been chosen to move to the castle as a guard. Of course, she wasn't expecting to be guarding the Crowned Prince of the Falcon Claw Castle. If she had the chance to go back to that day, she'd take that chance and run for the hills while she still could. 19 year old Prince Aaron, wanted absolutely nothing to do with her. He didn't want to be watched over, he didn't want to be guarded, he just wanted to be left alone for once in his life. With his luck, that was impossible. He never wanted the crown.
