Go back several centuries: when we weren't so naive; so clueless. When we were aware of the existence of the paranormal, and believed the unbelievable. When demons, faeries, witches, elves, etc, were not tucked away in the shadows of our minds' horizons, dismissed as 'myth', 'legend', and 'fairy tale'. Now, let me introduce Lilith, a beautiful young woman who makes her way as a huntress. And then, Clarette, whom is more of a shop-keeping woman. She is also Lilith's lover. Now, for the antagonist. Daemon: the charming, seductive, shadow that was brought forth from the recesses of Lilith's mind. He has deemed himself worthy enough to make her as miserable as he pleases, and he has no intention to allow her to fall in love. Clarette is getting in his way. This is no matter at all, however, for Daemon is a demon, and a demon is none too reluctant to slaughter for what is rightfully theirs.

"Do you remember calling me 'mate?'" he asked softly, pushing her wild curls away from her face. She blushed deeply, but he wouldn't let her look away. "You heard that?" He nodded with a smile. "It was the first thought she ever shared with me." Skylar pursed her lips. "She likes you very much." "What about you?" he teased gently. "How do you feel about me?" She set her jaw and once again managed to look down her nose at him while staring up at him. "Well... well, I'm rather fond of you, Orion." The words "I love you" were right on the tip of his tongue, but he knew it was too soon for that. He would have to hold them in just a little while longer.
