I flopped onto the couch, the springs creaking loudly to balance out my weight. My parents had just left to go overseas for a few months to go see my brother. I decided to pick up my phone and text an old friend. Leaning over to pick it up I type in the password and lay back down as I open up a message thread that hasn't been touched in ages.
The keyboard clicks under my fingers as I type out the message.
"Hey Chiho... We haven't talked in a while, how have you been?" Sent.
How could I have known that one text would lead to everything I know becoming wrong?

Almost instantly I got a reply.
