Fern Riley was born on Natrolite, a planet just like Earth discovered secretly by a NASA agent, whose year is eight times faster and puts the limits of science and physics to the test. Science and Natrolite's environment have allowed Natrolite's citizens to pick the age they want to live at. Once Fern turns sixteen, only then can she start to pick what age she wants to live the rest of Natrolite's time--who knows how long? Everything repeats, as if she lived her sixteenth year again and again. The day after she chooses to live sixteen for eternity, a strange book appears telling of another strange planet similar in that to Seslion, only things don't repeat. Its inhabitants are terminated.
