From the beginning, Dawn Black was different. Not only was she a traitor alongside Sirius, but she was a hybrid. A strange hybrid. The moment she reached age 11 and was requested to go to Hogwarts, she began to show magic no normal witch or wizard possessed: the magic of a Phoenix. However, this was only the beginning to her magic. Each year, a new side of her would appear at random and turn the tides of fate away from her. Not only was she possessing such power, but Lord Voldemort had gotten wind of Dawn's strange, yet powerful, magic and immediately sent a group of the Death Eaters to collect her. What they don't know is what her true magic is, or even her true identity.

She's hated by every house but her own. She's a Slytherin that embodies the house, yet nobody thinks she belongs. She defies social constructs quietly, and they hate her for it. The marauders never cared about who she was; they saw her as a girl that they had to torment. Because that's who she was, and that's who they were. But there's more to Ashlynn Elmer than meets the eye. Remus Lupin knows that. Ashlynn knows that. The only issue? Two groups of friends that get in the way. As Sirius Black would put it, "It's kind of like that Romeo and Juliet story. But different."
