But one day it comes and knocks on his door and he's forced to redeem it as much as he can. this is the story of his downward spiral, redemption and attempts to fix his mistakes. AUTHOR'S NOTE: pretty much all of this story is from Gale's perspective. and it doesn't have a Gale x Katniss relationship, just friendship. I think that the end of Gale's story was unfulfilling. Also, my version of Gale in this book is depressed and kinda has ptsd. and lastly it gets pretty dark so you've been warned.

We know her story. But have you ever wondered what it was like on the home front, in District 12? This story is Gale's, his outlook on the games, his feelings about his best friend's situation, and his interactions with the people of District 12. The story is set during the time period of "The Hunger Games" (book one of the trilogy). It is written from the perspective of Gale Hawthorne, and does not concern any events in books two and three. This is my first fan fiction, my first "real" attempt at long form prose writing, and my first Wattpad story. I appreciate constructive feedback, but please, no hate. While the characters and some plot points are based off of Suzanne Collins's Hunger Games Trilogy, (which I in no way own the rights to) I have created this story using my own imagination. When I was eleven. My whole world changed. Katniss' dad died in a mining accident. You think it wouldn't affect me but I loved him just as much as Katniss did.
