Dit is het verhaal van Haymitch, een 17jarige jongen die samen met zijn vader, moeder en zusje in district 12 woont. Zijn ouders zijn 1 van de rijksten in hun district. Met de gevolgen van dien: zijn vader zit aan de drank en zijn moeder kan hun bakkerij niet alleen runnen. Daarom moeten hij en zijn zusje na de schooluren helpen in de bakkerij. Aangezien zijn ouders veel geld hebben moeten ze zich nooit inschrijven voor bonnen. Toch word Haymitch getrokken tijdens de boete voor de 49 ste hongerspelen. zijn medetribuut is Maysilee, een meisje dat bij hem in klas zit en het nog niet zo slecht heeft thuis.All Rights Reserved
