The city of Knaura cowers as disasters rage on, one after another, ripping apart the very foundations of civilization.
Era, a half human half android girl waits, bored, until the chaos decides to recede. She lets the mayhem push and pull her around until she can get up and keep going.
One step in front of the other like the beat of a drum. Or a mechanical heart.
A mechanical heart that is in danger. Era only needs her heart to keep her alive, no food, no water and best of all, no family but when Eras heart starts to let out she needs to find help. Fast.
The only problem is that the old Knaura is dead, and so are it's people. As Knaura rebuilds itself, social disaster grows within its walls. Era needs to find a trustworthy helping hand and in the city lacking support beams and morals, Era's life is in the hands of blind luck.
Can she accept the help of an unknown stranger or will she die with the Knaura she knew?

A scientist staging a prison break steals both a ship and the android to be its pilot, hoping to escape the claws of capitalism. An opportunity to do just that is presented when the mismatched crew is presented with a task: rescue the kidnapped daughter of a black-market salesman and be granted safe passage to a planet without a single MBC colony to bother them. Even though making deals with thieves is generally regarded as a bad idea, there doesn't really seem to be a choice for these wayward souls.
