The date is December 12, 2012; there are only nine more days until the prophetic end according to the Mayan calendar.  Barry Hargrove has been called to discreetly locate a stolen object. This is not his normal case.  He soon finds himself embroiled in legends, myths and truths which he must decipher. With a motley group consisting of a young street urchin named Juan, a well-to-do professional non-medical doctor, a beautiful and ambitious newscaster and her crew, a young mother and her daughter, a mysterious elderly housekeeper and an educated shaman, Barry Hargrove will unravel the mysteries of the Mayan calendar in the ancient ruins of Palenque, once known as L'akam Ha.  Time is starting to blend together. the past is joining the present and ancient Mayan gods are walking among us.  All of this because somebody stole the "Baton of Time" from a museum.
