While Persephone may have been reluctant to be with the King of The Underworld at first, she slowly grew to love it and her husband. Hades being the most hated God received a curse from Persephone father, Zeus, that any child Hades and Persephone had together would destroy the world as we know it. Neglecting to tell his young wife this Persephone becomes pregnant. Excited to tell her husband about the news when she gets back to the underworld, her mother let's her know of the curse that Zeus has put on the child. Demeter urges her to be rid of the child, but Persephone, Goddess of Fertility denies the request and hides her pregnancy from all. Once Persephone has the child Zeus and Hades find out, so she asks Athena and Aphrodite for protection of the beautiful little girl. They counteract the little girls curse by providing the girl with a future love so strong, it will kill the darkness inside of her. This is the story of that girl, Helena, Daughter Of Hades.

Hades and Persephone: A Fated Love

19 parts Complete Mature

"You can have anything you want," He plucked the ripest for me from the tree. "Everything in my world is yours." With all of my mother's warnings, I had been afraid to eat from his table or drink his wine. These were binding things, and I would starve myself thin before Hades and I were tied together by communion. But in the light of this garden, it didn't seem as dangerous as it had in the dark. "I feel your wanting," he murmured and pressed half a pomegranate into my palm. Being in Hades's underworld for so long threatened to consume me. "Please. I shouldn't," I whispered. "Shouldn't," he repeated. "Why, Persephone? Because it is against the rule of the gods?" "No," I breathed. "If I cross this line, I don't know what will become of me." "Let me show you." ................................ 🥈#2 in retellings 🏅#4 in Olympus 🏅#11 in Persephone
