Haylees parents were killed in the ice covered mountains of the western country when she was just a baby. Luckily, Skylar, Dragon of the ice saved her, and brought her up as her own, teaching her magic. Haylees extra magical power comes from her temporary reptilian features, the tail and horns mostly, because they give her a direct link to skylar. Haylee was a bright and cheerful child, but then a few years back, Skylar vanished. Haylee has spent her days pain-stakingly searching for Skylar, until she hears of Natsu Dragneel, a fire dragon slayer who's father, Igneel, also mysteriously vanished. She hunts down Natsu, but the years of emotional and physical pain finally catch up with her, and she passes out, leading to her story with FairyTail.
