She was saved and given a second chance. He saved her.
He was bored and she caught his attention. Something was different about her. Maybe because she wasn't a total bitch and behind all the flaws that everyone else seemed to see and make fun off, he saw kind of a spark that captivated him. So he gave her another chance. It was a surprise for him because now he has to wait until she dies again to meet her again. According to the rules. But he was Death! And since when does Death plays by the rules?
