When it comes to sports, the only moments highlighted and broadcasted are those that are golden, when an athlete is at the top of the mountain, fearless. The trouble is that the lowest points in our lives are ignored and clouded out. It is at these times where one's character truly shows.

All Sam Delmont has ever known was football. From the age of six, he's just been the boy who fell in love with the game and never looked back with nothing in his way. As the starting wide receiver for his junior year, Sam was on top of his high-horse with no intention of coming down.

However, after sustaining serious injury early in the season, he experiences what it's like to have his world taken away from him, and faces a battle with his own attitude. What decisions will Sam make during his road to recovery?

A story detailing not the sport itself, but everything that is not seen- how an athlete deals with status, pressure, attitude, and fear. Find out in perspective why nothing should ever be taken for granted, and learn that once you give up, you may never go back.

In which I fall in love with my brother's best friend. ***** "Don't pretend like you don't feel anything." His voice is low, sending shivers down my spine. "What do you mean?" "You know damn well what I mean." "I don't know what you're talking about." I pretend to ignore him, flipping some pages in my book. "Come on. I have all these assignments waiting. Aren't you supposed to teach me tonight?" "It depends on what you want me to teach." He smirks, his voice sounding even more dangerous. ***** I thought that my brother was the most popular guy in school, but as soon as I step into my university life, I realize how wrong I was. Meet Vaughn Cooper, his best friend. The guy is the epitome of every girl's dream. Godlike handsome. The quarterback. He's got the looks, and he's got the brain. Come on, he's got the scholarship to one of the most prestigious universities in the country, while I have just barely passed the entrance examination after long years of struggle during high school. How could a guy who worked that hard and deserves nothing more but adoration be labeled as a bad boy? Yeah, the answer is simple. The moment we lock eyes, I realize something as I stare into those piercing, amber eyes. He's not every girl's dream. He's every girl's nightmare. In my case, MY nightmare. Calm down, heart. CRINGE WARNING! First book I ever wrote on here!! -- "Sometimes the person who you are willing to take a bullet for is the person behind the gun." I stood peering over the cold lifeless body that lay before my eyes. I had always thought of death the enemy, but right now, I blessed it upon the person who is now at peace. Sometimes you don't need to be the smartest, or the fastest, but you do need to be wisest. They say the blood runs deeper than water, and I believe it, because even though the people that we love can turn on us and begin to hate us, they are only human, meaning that soon they will begin to see how short life really is and how it is not to be wasted. People who seem perfect and they look like they have no floors'; they are the people who are suffering, like I was. But I found my savior in the most uncommon place. He was able to look through my mask, he saw the cracks, and tried to fix the broken girl that hid away deep inside the girl who only wanted to be seen as 'fine'. I slowly began to find comfort and safety in him, and I did the same to him. We were two broken people becoming whole. Someone once said when you pass, if you can count your true friends on one hand you are beyond lucky, and I even though I did not like the person that lay before me, I know that he once had true friends, including me. I'm a 17 year old girl who has suffered more than any other, beginning to believe that 'Hope' was just another word the people throw around. Until I fell in love with a badboy. Our path into the college baseball recruiting experience started much like most other families in youth baseball: We knew nothing. What originally started out as an activity to play on the weekends with our sons and their friends, grew over the years into a lifestyle never expected. 19 years later, two of my sons have been successfully recruited to play college baseball, and my oldest has just completed his 3rd season of professional baseball. Baseball people have always told us that "If you can play the Game in high school - you can play the Game in college: It doesn't matter where you play. After watching my sons play baseball in Park City, Utah, where we average 411-inches of snow annually, I'd agree. Yet despite our own success, too many deserving high school players continue to fail in their own efforts to realize the same dream, and I believe this rate of failure is only due to a lack of education and perspective of the recruitment process itself - and what the player must do to prepare himself to become recruited for the next level of baseball. My family has been incredibly-blessed with the opportunities extended, and it's time to give back: I want to help other players realize their dream of playing college baseball too! Each year, over 24,000 high school baseball players attempt to become recruited to play college baseball, and if you took all the roster spots available (at every level), the odds of becoming recruited are as great as 7 of every 10 players. Although our story is indeed fictional, the recruiting steps contained within are real - and proven, and will help others become successfully recruited. Read my story, and learn the elements of recruitment: The supply and demand sides of college baseball; how to prepare to perform at a higher level; the best level of college baseball; and how to craft a successful, targeted recruitment strategy that saves you time and money - and lets YOU choose the best college baseball program for you!

"Shut up I know what your already going to say." I said rolling my eyes. He smirked and shook his head. "Well what was I going to say then?" Derrick asked looking amused. "That I'm a wimp and that's why I'm not a football player but a cheerleader." I said pouting. "Actually I was just gonna laugh at you but I guess both will due." he said. I'm a fucking cheerleader! "Hey snap out of it!" he said hitting me on the side of my head. "RUDE MUCH." I said. "Your not human." he said before I could sing the song. ~ @yallzes made the cover
