I lived in a part of downtown Baton Rouge that was filled with poverty, and all sorts of debauchery. Trust me- I have seen it first hand. I was a white man living in a city that had a fever and that fever was climbing up the steps of a very wicked hallway.
As the sun fades beneath the trees that waved back and fourth in a heavy breeze, the moon lifts itself into the heavens; I watched it- Everyday at this time I watched this miracle- And while I stare into the heavens as this spectral events unravels- I know there is a God. For that I am certain. I do not know if he is a good or bad God, but I know there is something watching me from the heavens. Oddly, as relaxing as it is to watch the sunset as it slowly descended beneath the puffy clouds and the stars rise magically into a darkening sky- the thought of a God watching on me was not a comfort. I found this realization odd. But it was the truth.
