Everyone should be accepted for who they are, but sadly that isn't the case, especially within the LGBT community. It is hard to be who you are in this world.
The crew at Rock & Roll Saved My Soul are taking a stand. We want to end the hate and the bullying.
I Am Loved is a collection of stories and poetry that talk about love and acceptance within the LGBT community.

Walking into an empty house is normal to me. I guess I got tired of saying 'I'm home' when nobody is home to reply. It wasn't always like this. I remember when our family was close. Am I a lesbian? I don't know. I guess everyone could surely affirm who they are after graduating from college, I mean, you have already lived with yourself for 22 years. But for me it is not like that, I am 22 years old and I am very far from discovering the truth hidden in me, and that like flowers, is looking for the light, because everything changed since I met those brown eyes that completely changed my way of seeing the world. Nora lives in the shadows of her own heart, aware that something beats differently inside her, but she hides within herself to avoid being broken by the expectations of others. There is something inside her that she is unaware of and that, like flowers, is searching for the light. But just when Nora thinks she can follow her heart, she is faced with an insurmountable barrier that stands between her and the truth. Soon she will realize that she is so close, yet so far from finally being who she is. Unafraid, free from the shadows that haunt her. Like Nobody Else
Haunted by the mantra "I'm nobody," I echoed these words in my mind, feeling as though my entire existence revolved around catering to the happiness of others. Despite having friends, a constant undercurrent of self-doubt lingered, as if I were an anchor holding them back. In the shadow of my brother Adam's fame with the renowned band Three Days Grace, I was the family's black sheep, an outcast in our town. My academic prowess and hardworking nature seemed to count for naught, dismissed by my father as failure. Even my past relationship revealed a cruel truth - I was a mere experiment for my ex-boyfriend's infidelity. While my brother Adam basked in the heroics of our town, I felt cast aside, deemed a potential threat to other teens and shunned like a contagious disease. Despite my pleas for help falling on deaf ears for years, my existence seemed insignificant, unnoticed. The reflection in the mirror, one last look before I just contemplated ending it all, reflected a soul weary of pleasing others at the cost of my own emotions. With black lipstick, I scrawled a poignant question on the mirror: "Are you happy?" In the final, desperate act, as I pushed myself to the brink, a rush of relief mingled with the pain. Yet, as I succumbed to the darkness, a familiar voice called my name, disrupting the silence. Awakening to a hospital room, my feet tied to the bed, a blond-haired, blue-eyed figure lay by my side, a silent sentinel. Even in my darkest moment, he defied my wishes, standing vigil over the remnants of a life I sought to escape. The tangled web of emotions unfolds as I grapple with the unexpected second chance, questioning whether the bonds of love and resilience can conquer the shadows that once consumed me.Complete
Cold Water
[BWWM] I was only twelve years old when the world turned cold. The day my mom died in that car accident, I felt like someone had dumped a bucket of ice water over my heart. My dad, who had always been my hero, suddenly became a stranger, filled with rage and blame. He couldn't see that I was hurting, too; he only saw me as a reminder of his loss. The accusations cut deep. He said it was my fault for being there, for not doing something to save her. For being the reason she was in the car in the first place. In the years that followed, things only got worse. The abuse started gradually-a harsh word here, a shove there-but it escalated, leaving scars that I carried long after the physical pain faded. I was drowning in my own despair, struggling to keep my head above water while my father's anger raged like a storm around me. I only had a break from his anger when I started living with Aunt Dina-my mom's older sister. Well, that was because she found me nearly dead on my bed after I took a dozen pills. I was tired of living. I had hit rock bottom. The harsh whispers that followed me around and the stares at school. I pretended not to notice, like it didn't bother me. But it did. I was alone. Then came Athalia, a ray of sunshine cutting through my darkness. With her, I felt something I hadn't felt in years-happiness. TSZ Magazine: June 2016 (Issue #1)
Happy Pride Month everybody! Last year we all stood proudly as gay marriage was finally legalized in all 50 states within the US, but this year let's stand and remember all four corners of the world where we are still a far cry from actual acceptance . In this issue of The Safe Zone magazine, we discuss what it means to be gay in an illegal world. The devastating effects of a world where being free to love whomever you wish is still not a part of the constitution. Ryan takes us through the journey of coming out; a struggle many of us have faced or are still yet to face and because we know this is a life long journey we take an educational look at different genders and sexuality within the community. Also, look out for our monthly competition and all the amazing campaigns we will be featuring and interviewing throughout the month of June. Stand gay and proud! Evolution
There are a lot of things you don't really think about until they happen to you. Take rape, for instance. I always thought, "That won't happen to me. I have a boyfriend. I trust him. He would never take advantage of me like that..." I couldn't have been more wrong. Love in this day and age is often confused for manipulation and abuse. The warning signs are here. The things we say will tell us everything that is wrong. You are worth more than what you think you are. It's not your fault. If they tell you otherwise, get out. Burn the bridge. Always remember someone is waiting for you to walk into their life. Someone needs you. Someone loves you. Getting away from all of the wrong people and finding the right ones could save you. I can promise you right now that it saved me. These are the journal entries and selected poems from my first experience of love that left a unpleasant taste in my mouth- quite literally. I am putting this out for the whole world to see because I hope everyone will learn from my experience. People can see. We have no excuses to continue living our lives in ignorance. ...WARNING...
