  Turning, having a pinch in my chest, I glanced at her just one more time before making my exit. She made it hard to breathe. The air around her was sick with death.

For real, though, she was beautiful. And so were all the other girls to the left and to the right of her in there. All amazingly stupid, careless, yet sexy and strong-willed.
