"Sitting in the waiting room is a girl, around my age, with brown hair and blue eyes. I stared at her as Julia and I waltzed through the office. She was staring out the window daydreaming I suppose, because the receptionist had to call her name a few too many times to get her to snap out of it.
Receptionist: Ms. Winters, the school counselor can see you now. Ms. Winters? ...Ms. Athena Winters!
She whipped her head around to stare at the desk, I could faintly see her eyes fogging over. She abruptly stood up apologizing to the receptionist, then speed-walked away.
Julia: Tyler! I've been calling you for awhile now. Are you coming or not?
I realize that I've just been standing in the middle of the waiting area staring at an empty seat for at least five minutes now. Was she ever really there?"
