HOTSPOT

13 parts Complete

Teddy lives in a world where chemical warfare has left behind hotspots that turn humans into festering, mutated creatures with no sense of reason. Things have calmed down for her, however-she and her girlfriend live in a multistory car park along with others, a group of survivors managing a struggling existence alongside their decaying earth. Teddy, however, finds herself bored; itching for a fight. Things are too good. Too peaceful. Her secret wish comes true in the form of an attack by a neighbouring group and the arrival of a teenage boy in search of his brother. Overwhelmed, the group suddenly finds itself reeling, crippled and unguarded. In the wake of tragedy, her new companion holds a deep vendetta, and tensions between Teddy and her girlfriend are on the rise. Is it worth the war she so desperately craves? warnings for: violence/gore, death, swearing written for the z-fic novella contest. total word count: 22,822
