The Color of Roses

Riley Carter has gone through some difficulties in her life, to say the least, both of her parents abandoned her. A few months after she turned 17, she moved away with her best friend, Chase, to a new town ready and prepared for a restart. Riley however, wasn't prepared for the beautiful, yet very odd people in the small town of RoseCrest. She especially wasn't prepared for Nathan, a boy who seemed to constantly stare at her with emerald eyes that appeared to hide many secrets behind them. Riley wants to give in to her heart's, and maybe her body's, desires for the dark, mysterious, and absolutely irresistible Nathan Richards. But old memories of neglect and abandonment from her past remind her to keep a safe distance from him. However, Nathan is very persistent, making it harder for Riley to stay away from his charms. She can't help but feel a strong connection with the handsome boy, a connection she knew went deeper, much deeper, than just a physical attraction. Little does she know that her feelings towards Nathan is not the only secret she has yet to discover. Riley will soon be thrown into a world full of mystical and legendary creatures that were told to children as bedtime stories. Only, these weren't stories meant to be told for a good night's rest, these weren't stories at all. They were nightmares, real life nightmares that will have Riley fighting for the people she loves and that will have her fighting for her own life as well.
