Sky did nothing by look up at her and whimper, his injuries only getting worse.
Miana knew within seconds that he couldn't be saved...... that it was over for him.
She set him down and patted his white and grey head one last time before hearing a final whimper from him.
"It's okay, boy. You did good..... just rest..... I love you, Sky." She whispered before letting tears slip past her teal eyes and run down her pale cheeks, streaking them with red as she looked away. She couldn't help it. None of this felt real, and yet..... there he was.... the wolf she had taken care of since he landed on her doorstep..... gone.
But then again, is what we feel always what we see?
