Pain changes people, it makes them trust less, overthink more, and shut people out.
Aurora has gone through a world of pain, she was kidnapped by death eaters. They wanted to use her and her special abilities as a weapon. Everyday Aurora said no was everyday the tortured her. Finally after four miserable years, Aurora successfully escaped Crabbe manor. She was in critical condition and just barley made it to another manor before passing out.
When Aurora woke up in one of the bedrooms in Potter manor she was scared out of her mind. She didn't know who she could trust, James Potter and Sirius Black spend the rest of the summer trying to make her feel welcome. They also might uncover the full story of what happened.
